Saboti Member of Parliament (MP) Caleb Amisi has maintained his sustained attacks on the Kenya Kwanza a administration over the surge of abductions in the country.

In his statement shared via his official X account on Friday, December 27, 2024, Amisi shared that that while it is bad to abuse leaders physically or online, it is not reasonable to respond with abductions.

“t is wrong to abuse leaders physically. online or wherever ,President Ruto included .But it is extremely retrogressive to respond through other means out of the laid out legal process.

“Abductions by the state agencies are the ultimate sign of a pariah nation,” the MP said.

The lawmaker added that contrary to the ongoing abductions, the state is mandated to protect its citizens from any threats existential to their life.

He pointed out that the country’s sovereignity is threatened due to the government’s inability to explain or explain or prevent the kidnappings.

“The state sovereignty is conditional to the capacity of the state to protect her citizens from internal and external existential threats to their lives.

“Kenya’s sovereignty is therefore threatened by the current inability by the state to explain and prevent abductions. It will only take one more such disappearance for #UNSC to invoke international responsibility to protect. Kenya needs a renaissance!” he added.

Amisi’s comments come amid mounting pressure on the Kenya Kwanza government to release youth abducted for chastising President William Ruto’s governance through images online.

Various leaders, citizens and human rights groups have condemned the abductions and implored the government to intervene.
