Parcels stacked on a shelf at a pickup point

The change is operational rather than dramatic, but it affects almost everyone who orders online: more parcels will route to pickup points by default, and delivery windows are being narrowed.

For households that are out during the day, this is arguably an improvement. For anyone without a convenient pickup point, it adds a trip.

A parcel that sat at a depot for nine days drew attention to the transition. The carrier described it as an isolated routing error during the rollout, but the thread it started collected hundreds of similar reports.

If your parcel shows as at the depot for more than three days, the advice is to file the trace through the sender rather than the carrier — it moves faster.
